Cognitive Restructuring for Addiction (CRFA) involves a systematic method for identifying and then changing the thoughts, feelings, urges, actions, and social reactions that increase the risk of becoming addicted and increase the risk of relapse when recovery from addiction is attempted. The CRFA recovery system teaches a series of five progressive skills that are critical to addiction recovery. Each skill is broken out in the exercises to help you learn and master them. Many therapists asked Terence Gorski to generalize the core cognitive-restructuring process so they can apply it to a variety of problems addicted people need to cope with in recovery. The Cognitive Restructuring for Addiction Workbook is a response to those requests.
